Cumann Caoga Bliain - 50 Year Anniversary Celebration

We had a wonderful day celebrating the 50th Reunion with the 'Class of 1968' of NUI Galway or UCG as it was known then! Over 90 from the class from all disciplines, joined us for lunch in the Aula Maxima on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018, with a warm welcome from Professor Pól Ó Dochartaigh, Registrar & Deputy President.

Following this, we visted the archives in the Hardiman Building and had a bus tour & walking tour of the newly developed campus. Many of the class joined us in the Chapel of St. Columbanus celebrated by Fr Ben Hughes for deceased members of the class and we joined Fr Ben for tea/coffee & refreshments in the Common Room to conclude the day.

Like so many events of this kind, the rule of ‘the more the merrier’ applies and so I strongly encourage you to get in contact with college friends and celebrate this special milestone together.

For information on the 50th Year Reunion in 2019, please contact us. Online bookings will be open in 2019 for this event. Cheques can be made payable to Galway University Foundation and returned to Alumni Relations, Gate Lodge, University Road, Galway.
